I decided to post an old drawing of mine every Friday. This’ll be a random drawing chosen by me at the last minute. Like this one. I remember having a strange dream like this, or maybe it was just a thought I don’t really remember. Here it is.

It’s pretty clear what’s going on in there, right? Shit’s and Giggles. This wasn’t that “old” but I really needed an excuse to post this on the internet… again. ha ha, hee hee, *giggle* *slurp*

I made a comic book called Bonebite The Mad a while ago. I think it was done around 2003. 80 pages or so. This was the main character, or maybe the side-kick; depends how you look at it. His name is Bonebite The Mad and he’s an immortal severed head. So, he talks, eats, drinks, goes down on people. The things that a head does. He had adventures with Alec, killing zombies in a bar in San Francisco, fighting shit monsters in a hospital, fighting robots, Norwegian cocaine mafia and some other gang. He was victorious.
I started writing Stop The Rain around 2007. In the original script, Spine was one of the main characters. She was pretty much what she is in her own comic, except she was in Stop The Rain. She was carrying this doctor across a desert when a band of motorcyclists came up and attacked them. Later, I decided the two story lines did not go well together and took Spine out of that story. My decision wasn’t final. In fact, I didn’t know which way to go. During this time, I also started shooting / editing / doing CGI for Merry Go Round and I stopped working on my comics for two years. comics.
Around last year, I decided to make Spine her own comic and continue Stop The Rain as well. I really like the idea of having these two stories being linked somehow and I think I found the perfect way of doing that without ruining the mood of either one. I think it enhances them somehow. You’ll just have to read them both and find it out yourself. So, enjoy this old drawing of Spine carrying Doctor Morris to his doom, to Tripoli.

This is a rough sketch of Spine and Xeidj hanging out somewhere in Azeroth. I think I made this the day we got those bandage shirts from the nurse in Dalaran. I had lots of fun exploring Northrend for the first time. I’m not posting this because of it’s drawing quality obviously. The arm is too short, her breasts are weird looking. I think Xeidj is dead on though. Either way, I am kind of nostalgic of last year. So, that’s why this is here. Also, I was starting a comic called Spine around the same time. It was going to be a WoW fan-comic. I stopped and changed my idea. As you can see, I’m posting images that somewhat relate to the story of the “behind-the-scenes” of Spine: Blindknot.
Originally, It was going to be part of Stop The Rain, then a WoW comic. Now, it’s a weird Sci-Fi thing on it’s own. But there were 2 more steps in the middle. Which I will get to post about soon.
After illustrating the Spine and Xeidj by a lake, I started thinking about making a comic book based in Warcraft Universe. The idea sounded fun at first. I would get to include my internet friends as comic book characters, and write about our adventures. I decided to start the story with this page of Spine skydiving out of her helicopter to fish in a lake. As you can tell, skydiving became the right way to introduce Spine. That’s what she does. She jumps out of airplanes, helicopters, pulls the chute and action starts.
I abandoned the idea of making a wow comic because it would end up being more like a documentary. It would also lack the idea of Spine in Stop The Rain. A flooded world was necessary for the story. Also, another idea I had was telling Spine’s origin story that begins in Turkey. Which wouldn’t work AT ALL with the WoW Spine. However, I still do like the idea of taking my wow friend’s names and putting them as characters. So, my goal was clear: I have to create a brand new world for Spine. A flooded world where she could exist in ancient Turkey, and sky dive off of an airplane and not worry about it. Blindknot became the answer. Here’s the first unfinished page of the WoW Spine:
PS: Tom was visiting Z and I from Colorado today, so I couldn’t draw. But I’m off tomorrow as well, so I’ll do the new page tomorrow.
